Jordan Extension

Day 1:  Amman (D)

On arrival in Amman you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. With a minimum 5 people we will arrange the Jordan visa for free, as long as everyone is on the same arrival flight. Jordan visa is usually 40JOD – approx. $60USD.

Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Dead Sea (B, D)

After breakfast we depart to Jerash, one of the most complete and best-preserved cities of the Roman Empire. A walk – through its streets, theaters, temples and other places like the Great Colonnade Street, Arc of Triumph, the Oval Plaza and the Temples of Zeus and Artemis.

After our visit we then descend to the lowest place on earth, the Dead Sea and the desert of Moab.

The Dead Sea and the desert of Moab, the lowest point on earth and the first natural spa in the world, 400 meters under sea level. The Dead Sea is one of the most incredible places in the world. The Dead Sea speaks for itself; there is no living fish! It is by far one of Jordan’s most impressive and spectacular places to visit. Its calm shining water glowing from its scorching sun is known for the concentration of salt and minerals, which makes it a therapeutic as well as a unique swimming experience not to be missed!

Day 3: Dead Sea – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Karak or Shobak – Petra (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Madaba the “City of Mosaics”, visit the ancient mosaic map of Jordan and the Holy Land made in 571 B.C. at the Saint George Church. It is marked with the points of interest of some historical stories recorded in the Bible.

Proceed to drive up Mount Nebo where Prophet Moses is said to have died. Enjoy the view of the Holy Land and the Jordan Valley, and visit the mosaics found inside the church of Mount Nebo. Then exit thru the Kings Highway to Shobak fortress (or Karak) built between 1110 and 1213 DC by the Templers during the Crusades, which then were taken by Saladin. Departure to Petra.

Day 4: Petra (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Classic full day visit to the Nabataea city of Petra, where the movie Indiana Jones was filmed. Petra one of the Seven Wonders of the World, carved out of rock rose over 2000 years ago. Proceed to the entrance of the gorge (Siq) from there continue to reach the impressive Treasury (El Khazneh). Visit the theater, the street columns, and royal tombs. (Climb Up to the monastery on behalf of the clients, without guide).

Day 5: Petra – Wadi Rum – Panoramic Amman  (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel then depart for Wadi Rum. The desert of Wadi Rum, one of the scenes from the film Lawrence of Arabia and The Martian by Mat Damon, also one of the most spectacular settings in the Middle East.

The Desert of Wadi Rum is a uniquely shaped massive mountain that rose amongst the rosy red sand of the desert with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors. Amongst this emptiness and silence you can explore the desert in 4 x 4 local Jeep (2hour tour) visiting the seven pillars of wisdom and the holographic pictures carved before Christ.

After our visit we travel back to Amman and enjoy a Panoramic tour of the city known as Philadelphia: start with a view point from the Citadel, continue to the Roman Theater, the city center, traditional markets, churches, mosques, and then continue to the new modern city.

Day 6: Transfer to the airport for departure home (B)

Breakfast at the hotel, free time until your transfer to the airport.
