Day 1 Welcome to Bilbao:
Today is the first day of your "Basque moment". A unique blend of traditions and culture, passionate people, and fantastic gastronomy! Arrival to the Bilbao airport, the "Paloma" designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava. Your private guide will welcome you at the airport.

Check-in at your hotel and free time before dinner.

Enjoy a welcome cocktail and savour the best local gastronomy at one of our most charming restaurants at Bilbao city centre. Overnight at 4* hotel. Meal: dinner

Day 2 Bilbao - Getxo - Discovering the city through its river:
Today you will begin to discover how Bilbao and Basque people are connecting with the sea following the Nervion River until the Abra estuary. Meet your personal guide at the lobby of your hotel and go to the Maritime Museum to understand the transformation of the region.

Now, it's time to see it from the sea! Board a ship for a relaxing cruise to the new port of Getxo (Puerto Deportivo). On the way to Getxo, you will discover part of the industrial past of Bilbao and the most ancient hanging bridge of the world, from the XIX century, and part of the Unesco world heritage.

Lunch: enjoy a traditional menu in a traditional restaurant close to the sea.
Transfer back to Bilbao after the lunch.

Free time before dinner to enjoy the city on your own.

Dinner: Follow your private guide around the "seven streets", where the time seems to have stopped a few centuries ago, and enjoy a "wine and pintxos (Basque tapas) walking tour", while discovering some of the most emblematic buildings of Bilbao such as the Church of San Nicolas, the patron saint of sailors and the Santiago Cathedral, a beautiful Gothic building dedicated to the patron of the city. Other noteworthy buildings include the Biblioteca de Bidebarrieta (library), the Teatro Arriaga, the Mercado de la Ribera (the largest covered Market in Europe) or the Plaza Nueva, built in a neoclassical style.

Day 3 Urdaibai - Worldwide Biosphere reserve:
Meet your private guide at the lobby of the hotel and let's discover another treasure of Biscay, the biosphere reserve of Urdaibai. On the way to Urdaibai, you will admire the beautiful coastal villages of Bakio, Bermeo and the lovely hermitage of "San Juan Gaztelugatxe", nestled on the top of an island and to which the fishermen ask for protection.

Lunch: savour a delicious menu in a traditional restaurant.
Afternoon: Transfer back to Bilbao and free time to enjoy the city.

Dinner: on your own Overnight at 4* hotel. Meal: breakfast and lunch

Day 4 Guggenheim Museum - Bilbao to San Sebastian, the most glamorous Basque city:
Meet your personal guide at the lobby of your hotel and enjoy a private visit at the Guggenheim Museum, designed by Canadian-born architect Frank Gehry, and a symbol of the new Bilbao.

After the visit, departure to San Sebastian by your own (100 km, around 1 h by highway)

Lunch: savour the local gastronomy at one of our selected restaurants inside the old town.

Meet your local guide and let's discover the most famous Belle Epoque town of the North, San Sebastian, once a meeting place of the kings and aristocracy and today where international actors celebrate each year the international festival of cinema.

Day 5 Enjoy the Art of Wine in the Rioja wine region:
Rioja's beautiful wine region is internationally well known as producing some of the finest wines in Europe! Travel to Laguardia by your own. Meet your private guide and discover the art of the wine in the most ancient winery of this charming village (165 km - 1h50). An artisan family will share its passion for wine during a private wine tasting and a tour of the winery.

Lunch: on your own.

After the lunch, feel the spirit of the village and walk on the medieval streets of Laguardia.

On your return to Bilbao, take time to take pictures of some modern winery icons of the Rioja region: Marques de Riscal and Ysios vineyards.

Dinner: crown your stay in the Basque country with a farewell dinner in a Michelin star restaurant in Bilbao

Day 6 Bilbao - Time to say goodbye:
Check-out and transfer to Bilbao airport with your private transport.
